Well.. It is finally starting to happen! My first application to the study abroad program at Mount Union was submitted this morning! I would have gotten it done last night, but after freaking out my mom this morning by waking up to 5 missed calls because I didn't know some of my insurance information, I decided it was better to wait until this morning. I also had to submit an essay describing why I wanted to study abroad and how it would fit into my academic schedule. (Thanks Gabby!!! Its nice having a writing major as a roommate to help edit my papers) If I get accepted to this program, then I have to apply to the USAC program and the to the University of Oslo.
I also met with my advisor to go over the classes I mentioned earlier and how they would fit/transfer over. Genetics looked very promising and now we are looking at which departments will take them for credit and if the education department will take them for my licensure requirements. To fit in studying abroad with a major and two minors, I had to make a few adjustments to my schedule. I can still graduate on time with a major in biology and a minor in psychology, but I will have to come back for an additional semester to do my teaching clinicals. I figured that studying abroad would definitely be worth the trouble of an extra semester.
I will post more as the application process continues!
