Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I have been pretty busy with classes. The format for this post will be a little different and hopefully not too long! :)
October 1
Classes and recovering from Stockholm.
October 2
Finally had my police appointment! Finally! I still won't get my residence permit card for another two weeks (after my Paris trip) so hopefully everything goes smoothly without it! They also couldn't send it to my mailbox for some reason? Instead they sent it to a random department on campus so that is going to be tons of fun to try and track down. Probably THE most important document that I will have here. So looking forward to it. But everything at the appointment went smoothly and I am glad to have that finally out of the way! I am official, Norway!
Later that night, I joined our Sogn group at Amatøren for quiz night! The category for the first round was Science and Technology and I knew most of the answers! I feel like it was mainly a competition between Lotte (Natural Sciences) and I :). We all did pretty good, although her group did beat us by one point... Good Job!
October 3
Classes, homework, gym, and had to break out my winter jacket already. :( Looked like a total tourist, but at least I was warm!
Zita also had us over for our own little coffee hour. Chateau Neuf, where it normally is, has Oktoberfest running for the next two weeks and so we decided to have our own since it was canceled. She and Franzi even made us some really yummy chocolate buns!
October 4
I went out to Grünerløkka with Frieda, Eva, Lotte, and Marlene to do a bit of shopping. It is a really cute and trendy area and we stopped at the same cafe and got cappuccinos and hot chocolate to warm up. On the way back, Lotte and I looked around City Hall and I got a few souvenirs for some friends back home.
Once we got back, I Skyped with Jack and my mom, and then we had a little party with our Sogn group in our kitchen. I absolutely had a blast and it was great to just hang out with everyone and relax.
October 5
Chores, Netflix, homework, Paris Planning!
October 6
Class canceled, lazy day, naps, Netflix. :)
October 7
Class, gym, homework.
It was also Fabiain's Birthday today (Happy Birthday!) and so our Sogn group supprised him with a night out at Scandinavia's longest bar! Woohoo! We went to Grünerløkka to find the bar, Smelteverket, and once we finally found it, it was pretty cool! The bar wasn't really busy (probably because it is a Tuesday night) but the atmosphere was really cool and we had a lot of fun together. We made our way back and got completely soaked in the freezing rain, but it was worth it and I hope Fabian had a fun Birthday!
October 8
I had class in the morning and then Lexi and I decided to check out the event some people were passing out flyers for (in Norwegian but we could make out the words: Free cake and coffee!). We found the location and got our free refreshments (AMAZING chocolate cake), but apparently it was a guest lecturer that was speaking in Norwegian, so we awkwardly left the tiny group... Dine and dash Norwegian style!
After that I did some homework, had my Psych lecture (last one for the semester I think?!?), and then headed home to make dinner. I tried to start planning out some things for Paris, mainly how to get from the airport to the hostel, and after an hour I was starting to have a panic attack... I am seriously stressing and after Skyping with Jess, I think I just made her stressed out too! I am not looking forward to trying to navigate the Paris transportation system (in French), at night, by myself, with transfers... Hopefully everything will go smoothly, but right now I can't even think past tomorrow night, until I can get safely to the hostel and hopefully help Jess find her way as well! Wish me luck!
PARIS HERE I COME!!!!
Meet you there Jessica! I will be the one under the Eiffel tower with the beret, holding the baguette! :D
