Today I had my first Norwegian language class! I really liked it and our teacher, Astrid, is sooo cute. She seems like an excited-energetic-Norwegain-speaking grandma. We didn't bother with learning the basics though, like the alphabet and numbers. Nope. We just jumped right in. While I really did like the first class, it seems like a lot of work and I don't know know if I can handle this on top of my other classes. I was only supposed to take three classes in the first place, this was just a last minute add on. While I like the idea of having a fourth class as a safety net for Genetics, I don't know how much I would really learn in one semester, it doesn't really do me any good at Mount Union, and I could use the extra time to travel or study for genetics. And I could give up my spot for someone who really wants it and who is on the waiting list. Not sure yet, but I have a lot to think about.
I have been trying to catch up on all my reading for my classes from when I didn't have the books yet and get ahead because my family is coming to visit next week, so the last few nights have just been full of homework. On top of that, I think I am catching a cold :( And I think the medicine rules are really strict here, not sure if I can even buy cough drops over the counter... we will see!

I have decided to drop Norwegian! It took a big chunk of time and work out of my already full schedule, so I feel like I am making the right decision. :) I will just have to muddle through with my elementary-self-taught Norwegian phrases and maybe look up some YouTube tutorials and things on Google Translate to broaden my vocabulary.
I had make my appointment to see the police about my visa and get everything taken care of on September 1st, but that was before I knew my classes or schedule. It turns out that during that time slot on Monday I also have a psych class, a mandatory Genetics class, and my family will be arriving in Oslo. Busy Day! Luckily, I was able to reschedule the police appointment, now for Oct 2nd. (Was supposed to be within 7 days of arrival but... woops!).
I went grocery shopping and got lost while wandering around downtown, trying to find a few second-hand stores to buy some inexpensive warmer clothes that I won't mind leaving here after the semester is over. I could only find one store and the clothes in there were more expensive than the brand new clothes next door! What?! I am going to have to do some more research and exploring... After I got back home, I made some soup and tea and ate out on our balcony with Lotte and Frieda, which was really pretty and relaxing. Other than that, I have just been slaving away at my homework, still trying to get caught up!

Today was my busiest day of classes... In Political Utopias I met some of the girls that sit around me and they were all from America! They seemed really friendly and it was nice to talk to someone from home. After that I tried to read and catch some of the sun from the really nice weather we were having, but no matter where I sat, I kept getting attacked my bees/wasps! I think it might have been my lotion... either that or they are really into reading about Political Utopias as well! I should have offered to share. I had lunch at the cafeteria with Eve, Franzi, Fabian, and Frieda (chicken curry wrap... different, but really good!) After that I had my Psychology class and then headed back home to make dinner and do more homework. Yaayyy! I think I am going to the gym tomorrow to sign up for a membership! They have a workout facility and a pool, no diving board though :(. It is getting kind of colder out, so now I won't have an excuse in the weather to not work out! Not much has happened in the last few days and I haven't taken many pictures... I am just trying to get in the groove of classes and homework so that I have a good routine going that will allow me to be able to do fun stuff and take trips without falling behind in my studies!
