Today I went on another one of the University's free tours, this time to the Opera House! It was really cool and the inside is SO much bigger than it looks! We got to see different costumes, where they make the scenery, dance rooms, and we even got to sit in while they were rehearsing an opera! It all made me really excited to come back and see the Nutcracker in a few weeks! Can't wait!!!
November 12
Final revisions of my genetics labs and officially turned them in! Then I celebrated with some Netflix :)
November 13
Today was all about studying for my Political Utopia's exam tomorrow. I have read all of the material throughout the semester, so studying was basically looking at examples of past exams and making notecards so that I could try and keep all the little details of the 15 different books and articles we read straight... not easy! Overall, I feel pretty prepared and ready to go! This was oddly my favorite class here, even though it had nothing to do with my major or minors back home. :) Just nice to get something different now and then I guess!
November 14
MY first Norwegian exam completed!!! We were given 4 hours to complete it and I stayed until the end. I have never had a class where my ENTIRE grade depended on one giant exam, and now in Norway, I have three. Definitely nerve wracking. We were put into a huge room with little cubicle things in giant rows and older monitors watching over us. I came with water, an apple, and a couple pens, but these Norwegians came prepared! Some had whole loaves of bread and other sandwich fixings in front of them. Really made me look at my pitiful apple and really wonder if it would last me all four hours and what I exactly was getting myself into! The instructions were given, mostly in Norwegian, but I was able to make most of it out and figure out what to do. I stayed the entire time, but left feeling pretty confident in the end. I had written nine full pages and my hand was definitely feeling it at that point! After the exam, I headed home and had planned on taking a nap, but at the last minute, decided to join Franzi and Zita out shopping. I was yawning the whole time and didn't end up getting anything, but had fun hanging out with them! :) After returning home, I also got an invite to hang out with Lexy and her friends, who were planning on watching Elf. I couldn't pass on that, so I joined them until it was pretty late and then headed home to crash.
November 15 and 16
These two days were spent locked in my room, writing my final exam paper for my psychology class. I am pretty sure I set a new procrastination record for myself... A 17 page research paper completely researched and written in under 48 hours. I was even pretty impressed at how well it turned out! This is definitely going to give me false confidence for future projects though... :/
November 17
Today, I turned in my psychology final exam paper and felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders. 2/3 exams done and now I just have to worry about genetics, which isn't for another month or so, but I will not make the same procrastination mistakes I did for this paper, that is for sure! :) I am realizing that I have just over a month left here, and now is the time to travel and explore while I still can. Now is even better, because I have two classes off of my plate and only have to worry about genetics! I am getting excited to go home and see everyone for Christmas, but at the same time, I don't want to leave my new home in Oslo. I think I am in denial about how little time I really have left here... :(
Here are some pictures from the Opera house tour (we weren't allowed to take any behind the scenes though :/... )
